Brunei

The Islamic state of Brunei Darussalam, located on the north coast of the island of Borneo, surrounded by the state of Sarawak, Malaysia, regained its independence in 1984 and is a member of the British Commonwealth of Nations.
Economic growth averaging 56% from 1999 to 2008, has transformed Brunei Darussalam into an industrialised country with one of the world's fastest growing GDPs. Crude oil and natural gas production account for nearly half of its GDP and substantial income from overseas investment supplements income from domestic production.
New Zealand maintains friendly relations with Brunei and enjoys cooperation in many areas including trade, investment, education and defence.
