Kingdom of Thailand

With a well-developed infrastructure, a free-enterprise economy, and generally pro-investment policies, Thailand has been one of South East Asia's best performers. Export growth from 2005 to 2008 averaged 17.5% annually. Business uncertainty has escalated, however, following the 2006 coup and subsequent political crises.

New Zealand’s economic links with Thailand have grown rapidly over the last decade. Sharing similar perspectives on regional political and security issues,  New Zealand is regarded as a friendly and reliable partner.
